304 stainless steel plate identification method

304 stainless steel plate is a chromium-nickel stainless steel that is more commonly used. As a general-purpose steel, it has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties; hot workability such as stamping and bending is good, no Heat treatment hardening phenomenon (use temperature -196 ℃ ~ 800 ℃). It is resistant to corrosion in the atmosphere. If it is an industrial atmosphere or a heavily polluted area, it needs to be cleaned in time to avoid corrosion. Suitable for food processing, storage and transportation. Has good processing performance and weldability.

I. Identification of Grinding Flowers

Grinding identification is to grind the stainless steel on the grinder and observe its spark. If the spark is streamlined and has more dense knots, it is high manganese steel or manganese nitrogen steel with higher manganese content; if it is knotless, it is chromium steel or chromium nickel stainless steel.

II. Identification by chemical qualitative method

Chemical qualitative method is a method to identify whether nickel is contained in magnetic stainless steel. The method is to dissolve a small piece of stainless steel in aqua regia, dilute the acid solution with clean water, add ammonia water to neutralize, and then gently inject nickel reagent. If there is red velvet material floating on the liquid surface, it means that the stainless steel contains nickel; if there is no red velvet material, it proves that the stainless steel is free of nickel (but due to the low nickel content in stainless steel, it is generally only a few percent. (The content is not easy to reveal or determine how much, generally it needs to be mastered after many experiments with standard samples).
